Our Program
Education Plus is an after-school program based in Paterson, New Jersey, serving children from kindergarten through fourth grade. Our program is free for families eligible for 4CS. Held at the same school your child attends during the day, we provide a seamless transition to after-school care, ensuring a safe and familiar environment.
Our certified teachers, who also teach in Paterson Public Schools, extend the school day by tailoring lessons to students’ needs. The program focuses on foundational skills in reading, writing, and comprehension, complementing the daytime curriculum.
Reading
Our program incorporates research-backed strategies to build strong reading foundations, including phonics, fluency, and vocabulary development. By fostering a love for reading, we help children enhance their skills and grow as confident, lifelong learners.
STEM
We integrate STEM activities to nurture curiosity, problem-solving, and innovation, reflecting the latest advancements in education. Hands-on experiments and challenges engage students and make learning exciting.
Writing
Using evidence-based approaches, we guide students in developing their writing skills, from sentence construction to creative expression. Writing practice is tailored to improve clarity, structure, and critical thinking abilities.
Homework Support
Aligned with best practices, our homework support ensures students understand and complete their assignments efficiently. Our goal is to reinforce classroom learning and build self-confidence in academic tasks.
Comprehension
Our program emphasizes comprehension skills by teaching students to analyze, interpret, and connect with texts. Current studies show that building comprehension is key to academic success and independent learning.
Music & Movement
Our program combines rhythm, dance, and interactive exercises to foster creativity and a sense of joy in learning.
